Kayak
While not an adventure for the faint of heart, kayaking the Na Pali Coast can be a thrilling experience for physically fit and experienced sea kayakers.
Ideally, you should join a group guided excursion led by qualified guides.
Several outfitters offer guided kayak tours off the Na Pali Coast in the summer months when the ocean here is relatively calmer. Note, however, that even in the summer, the tour will not operate if weather conditions are not good.
This 10-mile Na Pali kayaking tour starts at the north end of Polihale Beach and goes up to Miloli’i Beach, one of the pretty Na Pali Coast beaches with golden sand and some cultural sites to explore.
Although the beach has a protective barrier reef, a unique channel allows you to kayak single file and access the beach.
Miloli’i Beach can only be accessed by kayak, and en route you get to experience the magical scenery of the Na Pali Coast and perhaps enjoy sightings of dolphins or Hawaiian sea turtles.
You’ll explore sea caves along the route and get a unique perspective of the towering cliffs from almost water level.
After some time for strolling the beach and swimming , you will have a picnic lunch before kayaking back to Polihale, where you can shower before being returned by van to the marina where you started.
Look for resting monk seals and pups on Miloli’i Beach!
Snorkeling gear is also offered if you wish to snorkel. The waters off the Na Pali Coast feature a diversity of marine life and offer an excellent place to snorkel.
